We went to a local market and our cooking class teacher, Pim, showed us the local vegetables and fruits to us. Then we backed to the cooking school to cook a 5-courses meal, including my favourite mango sticky rice!! Pim was extremely patient and taught us many cooking skills. Pim (owner operator/tour guide/chef/instructor) is very well informed, speaks excellent English, keeps a reasonable pace on the tour, and is very understandable in her teaching. What can make or break the experience is who you get as classmates. Our group were all lovely, and a friendly lot. Made for a fun morning. The highlight dish for me was the lemongrass salad, which I would describe more as a Thai chicken salad. Will definitely repeat that at home. Learning to make a proper pad thai was greatly appreciated. Will be teaching son as thatvis his favorite. Food is ample. Couldn’t begin to eat it all even though portions were reasonable. A bargain at the price.

Note if anyone has mobility issues this tour would NOT be appropriate. There are many stairs to climb a pedestrian overpass to cross a busy road, and footing in the market itself can be treacherous. Definitely not wheelchair friendly. read less

We booked last minute the night before we were leaving and they were able to accommodate us for the next morning. We skipped the market due to our own logistics issues and went directly to the school. Ticha & her team provided excellent training! Our host, Alex, was knowledgeable and personable. We enjoyed learning about and picking up key ingredients in the market, riding a tuk tuk to the school, and preparing pad Thai, lemongrass salad, green curry, and mango sticky rice. 10/10 highly recommended. The class began with a stroll through a nearby market full of fresh fruits, vegetables and fish. We stopped at multiple locations to learn about the ingredients we would be using. The class itself was run by a very knowledgable and sweet instructor. We made 4 delicious dishes and received recipes to take home with us to reference later. Highly recommend taking this class when in Bangkok! read less
